The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, or the Soviet Union, was a socialist state on the Eurasian continent that existed between 1922 and 1991. A union of multiple subnational Soviet republics, its government and economy were highly centralized. The Soviet Union was a one-party state, governed by the Communist Party with Moscow as its capital.

Revolution TimelineEdit

By the 1970's, the Soviet Union continued to rise to power after achieving in the Space Race by becoming the first nation to put humankind on the moon. In 1977, the Soviet Union established an alliance with Syria, Iran, and Iraq, and gaining control of some of the Middle East's oil reserves. This allowed the Soviets to be placed in a stronger position of negotiations with Western Europe, who have no choice but to appease their communist rival.

The USSR remained strong into the 21st century and maintaining healthy foreign relations with China and North Korea. During the American military interventions in the Middle East, the Soviets continued to retain their influence in the region and supported their allies, but not directly opposing the United States. It was the Soviets' control of Middle Eastern oil that partially prevented the United Nations from interfering North Korea's invasion of the United States in 2025.
