The Republic of the Union of Myanmar, also known by its historical colonial name "Burma", is an southeast Asian nation bordered by Thailand, China and India.

In 1983, North Korean agents attempted to assassinate Chun Doo-hwan, the President of South Korea, while on state visit to Rangoon. Although President Chun survived the attack, 21 were killed, including 14 Korean presidential advisers, journalists, and security officials were killed; four Burmese nationals, including three journalists, were also among the dead. Salmusa's father was apparently involved in this state-sponsored terrorist attack.[1]

Myanmar either voluntarily joined or was forcibly taken by the Greater Korean Republic sometime in 2021.
