The president declared and put into effect Executive Order 12919 today, allowing him to
prioritize the allocation of materials, services and facilities as deemed necessary to promote
the national defense. In a statement released from the White House, the heads of the major
agencies including Agriculture, Health, Energy, Commerce and Transportation would co-
ordinate under the Dept of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security to help quell
civil unrest in major urban centers and distribute goods to the population.
The military will be deployed to New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and other major
urban centers to distribute aid and to help restore order. Travel into and out of cities will be
heavily regulated until further notice, and FEMA will establish aid camps outside of urban
centers to assist the poor and displaced. Citizens are expected to adhere to the restrictions
announced by the authorities and prepare to relocate, if instructed.
