Malaysia was a federal constitutional monarchy in Southeast Asia. Its borders are shared with Thailand, Indonesia, and Brunei, and maritime borders exist with Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Homefront Timeline[]

Malaysia developed closer ties with the Greater Korean Republic, especially during the Korean occupation of Japan in 2018, when Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad supported the occupation along with Iranian Cleric Ahmad Jannati, and contributed two elite Renjer battalions for counterinsurgency operations in Japan.[1] Malaysia remained one of the few nations that continued to support the occupation and dissented to the U.N. condemnation of the GKR's human rights abuse in Japan.[2]

By April 2021, Malaysia became the fifth country to join Korea's economic and military union, after Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, doing so willingly. The Prime Minister of Malaysia celebrated this union during a flag-raising ceremony in Pyongyang that included the national anthem of Malaysia and a signing ceremony, followed by a lavish banquet.[3]

Trivia[]

  • At the time of Homefront's release in 2011, Mahathir Mohamad had been retired from office for eight years. However, on 10 May 2018, Mahathir became prime minister again after winning the 2018 Malaysian general election.
