Las Vegas is a city in the United States and the most populous city in the state of Nevada. It was known for being a resort city known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining and nightlife and is the leading financial, commercial, and cultural center for Southern Nevada. During the economic crisis, Las Vegas declined and many of its gaudy establishment were left abandoned. At least 65% of the city were unemployed.[1]
History
During the early phase of the Korean invasion, Las Vegas was cut off from other cities following the Korean EMP attack. Furthermore, the city was left without electricity. Despite the situation, Las Vegas was able to be self-sufficient. Engine-generators were utilized for essential needs. The reorganized Casino Management Company established a miniature economic system in which casino chips were used as currency to rebuild the city communally. The casinos were still running to entertain the citizens from their boredom. The mayor declared all the hotels to provide shelter to the homeless. Food were homegrown from a large greenhouse, and meat is scarce in which chicken eggs are substituted. Strict law and order was kept in place by Sheriff Mack McConley.[1]
The city was ignored by the KPA after they took over Boulder City and Hoover Dam, where they repaired the dam and coincidentally providing running water to Las Vegas. The Koreans saw little value of the city and it was speculated that they saw the city as a representative of the old decadence and capitalist spirit of America.[1]
Ben Walker settled in Las Vegas and became a disc jockey criticizing the Korean occupation and especially severely insulting Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. Viewing Walker as a threat for brewing unrest, Korean authorities ordered the elimination of Walker by destroying Las Vegas. On January 24, 2026, the Korean People's Army Air Force then used confiscated American F-35s and B-2s to bomb the city and thousands of civilians were killed. Although the city was destroyed, Walker managed to escaped.[1]
