"Once upon a time in America, our military was a well-oiled, well-funded machine, capable of projecting massive power anywhere in the world. The crumbling of our nation, finished with the hammer blows of a cunning enemy, changed all that. But this country's strength has never been solely weighed by its guns and treasure. 250 years ago, farmers and shopkeepers, printers and blacksmiths fought a mighty empire, armed with little more than courage and a dream of freedom. Today, a new generation of civilians will join our armed forces to tear San Francisco from enemy hands. I am the Voice of Freedom, but you are its terrible, swift sword. This is a war of the people, by the people. Let freedom ring."
―The Voice of Freedom

Golden Gate is the seventh and last chapter in Homefront.

Description[]

The fuel has been delivered to the U.S. military. Now join them in a major operation to retake the Golden Gate Bridge. An anti-aircraft emplacement is keeping the U.S. from launching fighters and the KPA is going to fight for every inch. Good luck.

Plot[]

Jacobs and the Resistance fighters meet up with the U.S. military, who are given the jet fuel and preparing to launch a counteroffensive to retake San Francisco. Connor and Jacobs board an AH-700 Scout and fly to assault the Golden Gate Bridge from Marin County. Jacobs use a Grenade Launcher to take out KPA soldiers armed with RPGs. After landing at the Lime Point Lighthouse, they fight through KPA forces and destroying a T-99 MBT before proceeding up the bridge tower.

After reaching the bridge span, they regroup with Hopper and Rianna, and help eliminate RPG threats in order for the U.S. armored convoy to move up the bridge. As they proceed across the bridge, Sentry Towers prevents the convoy from advancing. A KPA Z-10 Chimera attacks the convoy and Jacobs is blasted off the bridge. Fortunately, Jacobs manage to land on the lower deck where he navigate through the broken beams to get back to the upper deck.

Jacobs makes his way behind the KPA checkpoint with the two Sentry Towers, which he proceed to destroy them and allowing the convoy through. The same attack helicopter resume its attack on U.S. forces, but it is destroyed by Jacobs with a Javelin. After regrouping with the Resistance and U.S. forces, Jacobs helps defend Hopper as he takes control of a AA platform and turning it against the North Koreans, and allowing the U.S. Air Force to attain air superiority. After reprogramming the AA guns, a KPA armor column attempt to storm their positions and forcing Jacobs to use a UCAV to destroy the enemy convoy.

After destroying the convoy, Jacobs and the Resistance proceed to advance across the bridge in a Humvee before running into a KPA Goliath. Jacobs uses the Humvee's mounted gun to battle the Goliath until they eventually stops in front of an oil tanker. Jacobs shoots the tanker and the resulting explosion destroys the Goliath, but it also knocks Jacobs and the Resistance fighters out of their Humvee right when a KPA armor column shows up. Connor requests an airstrike on the armor column, but is denied, due to the pilot being unable to differentiate hostile forces from friendly forces. Connor lights a flare and runs to the enemy armor column, and ordering an airstrike on his position, sacrificing himself and ensuring American forces to retake the city.

The counterattack on the NKFOA capital became a success and marking a turning point in America's war against the GKR. Furthermore, the European Union Defense Council are considering to support the Americans.

"This is Europa News, in London. The Underground "Voice of Freedom" network reports that American resistance fighters have joined U.S. Military forces in a major offensive at occupied San Francisco at the Golden Gate Bridge. The co-ordinated attack may prove to be a turning point in America's guerilla war against the Korean Occupation. Meanwhile, the EU Defense Council has called an emergency session to debate support for our allies across the Atlantic."
