Canada is a federal parliamentary democracy under constitutional monarchy in North America, bordered by the United States to the south. Formerly a collection of British and French colonies, Canada is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and developed close military and economic relations with the United States and the European Union.

Homefront timeline[]

On June 18, 2016, most likely due to the lasting economic chaos in America brought about by the Middle East's destructive Oil Wars, the Canadian and American governments made a decision to end their longstanding "Open Borders" policy that has defined Canadian-American relationship. Citizens of both nations had to apply for Visas at least a month in advance to travel across the border. Although special permits were issued for carrying critical supplies, such as oil, building materials, food and medicine.[1]

Four years later, as America's internal situation has further deteriorated, to the point which it is called by its citizens the "Country of Nomads", Canada was forced to close and protect its borders from Americans fleeing from a frail country.[2][3]

During the Greater Korean Republic's attack and invasion of the U.S., Canada was spared from the EMP attack that wiped out the American power grid.[4] Some elements of the U.S. military that were resisting the KPA were forced to retreat into Canada.[5]

During the Korean Occupation, supplies of petrol continued to be smuggled over Canada and Mexico's borders and sold in the black market for less expensive but still costly prices.[6] There was a secret border crossing leading to Canada, known to the American Resistance, at Sweet Grass, Montana.
